Buck Knives brought a breakthrough to market in 1964 with the 110 Folding Hunter: The first folder that locked open, but could be carried safely and compactly.
The Buck 55 is a practical and compact pocket knife. It is called the '55' because it is exactly half the size of the famous Buck 110. It resembles its big brother in almost everything. Clippoint 420HC blade, nail nick to open it and a solid backlock to lock the blade when opened. The handle is also made from brass, the inlay, however, is made from American walnut wood. It still has a hunting pedigree, but it's an outstanding everyday carry knife. These have brass bolsters and liners, positive lock-open system and handsome Ebony wood handles.
